While the goal of classification is to partition the sample space into "known" sets, categorization aims at assigning labels (multiple, in some cases, analogous to soft/probabilistic classification).<BR/><BR/>It is important to note that, similar to any other situation, the usual practice has deviated from the original/"true" definition of these terms.
